Treatment by 'owner'

What is the clinic's attitude toward treatment by the "owner" ? (we all know the cat owns the human, but we refer to the human as owner here ) Do they trust the human to give fluids, test blood glucose, and things of the sort? Do they expect humans to do things like collect poop samples? How do they react if the human finds something on the internet -- do they simply dismiss it, ignore it, tell you why that isn't the whole story, ... ?
