Hours

The last item to consider in this category is the clinic's hours. Are they open when you can get there, or will you have to take a whole day off of work? Can you drop Kitty off when you go to work and pick him up later in the day? Do they have weekend or evening hours (and are they open on Saturday afternoon, or only Saturday morning)? Do they make up for their weekend hours by closing or closing early one day during the week? Are there hours where the clinic is open, but there are only vet techs and no doctors present?

If you need help when they are closed, what are the emergency options? In some cases, there is a semi-nearby emergency clinic (which may be 50 miles away, or across 40 minutes of traffic in a built-up suburban area). In others, the vet may come in (or stay) after hours for an emergency case.

Our vet has open hours, that means no appointments. So if they are open from 7-7 you just show up and wait in line, unless you are an emergency then you go first. Mom says the best days to go are Thursday morning because there is no one there. They spend extra time with me because I don't like it there and I get a little WILD when i'm there and try to kill everyone mol.
