Hi furriends. We had a very bad storm here and winds of 75 mph+. Nearly everyone in Missoula lost power and some (Like Us!) lost power longer than others. All our food spoiled in the refrigerator and, with no A/C or fans, it got nearly 110 (F) in our Mobile Home. Mommy had to call 911 because daddy went into heat exhaustion and had to go to the hospital. We only had two flashlights and it was very dark in our home. Mommy has a battery radio but local stations were off the air so no news the first night. The storm hit hard and fast, without warning, at 6 pm Monday. The next morning daddy's care giver discovered our old van had a flat tire. The PCA comes to work on a bicycle so mommy could not get to store for two days. She finally got some ice and an ice chest Wednesday but nearly all the stores were out of ice and even their air and gas pumps would not work due to the power outage. Mommy managed to find three small battery run fans and she had to buy tons of batteries for them and for the two big battery lights she bought. We could not keep our front door open as when they put up the new door the weatherization people told mommy our old screen would not fit after the new door was installed. They took it away and told mommy that she would not need it with A/C air conditioning etc. Most of our windows were bolted shut when mommy moved in here and the rest have no screens!! We have a hug swarm of wasps on our porch this time of year. Mommy tried to sit out on the porch at night and got some bad mosquito bites. The Trailer Court landlord lives in the back of this court and he has a big, open irritation ditch running through his place and it really breeds these awful mosquitos!!! Mommy got pretty sick and daddy still feels bad. He could not even use his electric lift recliner and could not get comfortable. Without the chair lift it was very hard for him to stand and pivot even wearing his leg braces. He could not even take his nebulizer treatments or his oxygen therapy for three days. We contacted daddy's case manager and even he could find no shelter where daddy could go. This was a very scary three days and mommy is nearly 70 and has COPD. Daddy will soon be 71 and has a bad heart condition and is nearly blind. Mommy had trouble drawing up daddy's insulin at night as all she had to see with was a flash light. Mommy must rest up and care for daddy and us kitties as some of us also got sick from the high heat. We may not be on much for next few days. Mommy must rest and replace some of our spoiled food. Love and miss you all very much. Breezy Belle

no lights
We didnt have lights in the shed for a while. Then somebody came and did some things so we did have lights in the shed. There was always a mercury light outside. Butler liked chasing bugs when when our human came back from closing the gate at night.
Then we had to move out of the shed and live in the hay. The electric fence was solar powerd and kept the cows out of the hay, but not always the calves.
My human saw that you have had some more severe thunderstorms in your area this afternoon.
