My human left me alone the other day.
When I heard him pull up, I started meowing at him before I could even see him well. Once he got inside, I took him to my litter box. He had to put some of the things he was carrying down first, but then I made sure he changed my litter box. I did not even let him finish putting it back together -- once it had the clean litter in it, I had to use it.
It's nice to have a clean litter box. When we lived in the shed, we had a litterbox that he had to change nearly completely every day. We went through a 25-lb bag a week -- the garbage men complained it was too heavy if it was in a bag with other garbage

Yes, we kitties need clean litter boxes to be content & healthy
We kitties here (nine of us all together) have numerous kitty litter boxes and our human mommy cleans them all at least three times per day or more. We really let her know whenever our litter needs cleaning.
